Rob Zombie and ‘American Psycho’ Writer Working on TV Series About Manson Family Murders

Fuck yeah, this seems like it’s going to be an awesome show!

Rob Zombie has confirmed joining forces with “American Psycho” writer Bret Easton Ellis for a TV series project revisiting the notorious Manson Family murder spree.

As Variety reports, the project is currently in the “very early stages of development” and is planned to be released as a limited series for Fox.

The gruesome killings still shock the world to this very day, leaving a vile trace of seven victims, including actress Sharon Tate, who was eight and a half months pregnant with Roman Polanski‘s child at the time.

Although he never killed anyone himself, Manson was convicted of first-degree murder, resulting in a deah sentence in 1971. The death penalty was abolished the following year, forcing a sentence switch to life behind bars. Charles Manson was denied parole 12 times since.

Zombie revealed his fascination with the Manson Family affair on numerous occasions. As for the project, the series is intended to tell the story from several different aspects. More info should drop soon, stay tuned.

Beer updates: Stone, St. Archer, Pliny the Younger sold as Miller High Life

Pliny the Younger (Russian River) is known as one of the rarest beers for IPA ninjas like myself… apparently a bar called BeerMongers had a secret keg of Pliny the Younger on hand, and tapped it on a Friday at 3pm, under the name Miller High Life for $7 a 12oz glass. Apparently they did this for their regular customers…. pretty cool. At first I was like what the fuck? They should sell it to everyone. But then again, if this was my regular bar I go to, I would be beyond stoked. Good move BeerMongers, reminds me of when a band plays a show under a fake name. Cool!

Stone is going to be putting out a new mixed 12 pack, with Arrogant Bastard, Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA, Stone IPA and Stone Ruination IPA. They used to include Levitation Ale and Oaked Arrogant Bastard to the mix but decided to switch those over to Arrogant Bastard and the Black IPA. I’m  not really a mixed 12 pack kind of guy, but for people wanting to try Stone out, or want to try some IPAs out, it’s a good deal.

San Diego brew company, Saint Archer Brewing Company is going to be releasing a new beer, White Ale. I dig these guys IPA and especially the double IPA, although this beer isn’t quite my style, I am glad to see the brewery expanding.

Thanks to Beerpulse for these stories.

Nevada Bans TRT for MMA fights, Machida now fighting Chris Weidman at UFC 173

Well shit went down again…. maybe directly due to Keith Keizer leaving as the head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.  A lot of people said it was a big deal, some said it may change nothing, or things may get worse as far as judging and refereeing goes. But the first big change has hit, and Nevada has become the first state to completely ban TRTs for all fighters.

The problem comes for Vitor Belfort who had his title shot locked in against Chris Weidman at UFC 173. Belfort is a known TRT user, and after 3 devastating headkick knockouts in a row he earned the shot. But now that this ruling has come down, the UFC decided to pull Vitor, and put Lyoto Machida in to fight against the champ. The reasoning is that Vitor will need a tune up fight off the ‘juice’ before he fights the champ.

Dana White couldn’t be happier about the ban, Machida’s got to be stoked, and Chris Weidman also said this makes him very happy. This and more on episode 7 of Murray Duty next Wednesday.

As I Lay Dying and Tim Lambesis Update

Man this is a crazy case. The singer of metalcore band As I Lay Dying, Tim Lambesis, has been in court over a year for this shit… apparently he tried to hire a hit man to kill his wife, but it was a setup, and he got caught. The craziest thing about this, is that Lambesis allegedly offered a mere $1000 to have her killed. Well that last part isn’t actually true. That had me cracking up, only $1000 to kill someone? Maybe I need to talk to this guy, I have a couple extra thousand lying around…. not serious, don’t worry. But for reals it turned out that the thousand was just a down payment, and it would really be $20,000, which to me seems like a muuuch more reasonable price.
